Mission

The mission of the Faculty is focused on three areas, which are:

  • To enhance the quality of higher education in the field of political science;
  • To increase the number of qualified graduates with essential skills and relevant key awareness;
  • To increase the number of quality academic publications in international databases.

Areas of work

The Faculty undertakes teaching and research in the fields of Political Science, Government, International Relations, Public Administration, Sociology and Anthropology, and International Development. 

Atrocity prevention programs/activities

The Faculty of Political Science at Chulalongkorn University offers various courses related to atrocity prevention and peace building, such as Violence in World Politics (Undergraduate Level), Seminar in Human Rights and Human Security (Undergraduate Level), Seminar in Refugee Studies (Undergraduate Level), International Organizations (Undergraduate Level) and Conflict Resolution (Graduate Level).

Recently, the MAIDS-GRID program, one of the graduate programs for International Development Studies) in the Faculty, has begun offering a joint PhD with the University of Copenhagen under the theme peacebuilding, public authority and forests in Myanmar. The Faculty also organizes various talks and seminars which are related to peacebuilding and atrocity prevention all year round.
