APR2P, in partnership with members of APPAP, are currently developing an app to prevent the spread of hate speech and incitement that can lead to the commission of atrocity crimes. The app will be targeted at youth, and seeks to educate them about hate speech and the many forms it can take, as well as the effects suffered by victims of hate speech.

The app will take into account hate speech around political, religious, cultural and gender-based identies and how it works in different formats, such as in face-to-interactions, social media, advertising and broadcast media.

Furthermore, and perhaps most importantly, the app seeks to educate and support not just the victims of hate speech, but the perpetrators as well. By doing so, the project seeks to create long lasting change regarding hate speech and incitement to atrocity crimes within the minds of youth in the Asia Pacific.
