Members of the Asia Pacific Partnership for Atrocity Prevention (APPAP) have condemned the policies of the Chinese government against the Uighur community within Xinjiang province.
Following an investigation by the BBC, APPAP members have released a statement warning of systematic sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) committed against Uighur women in detention, which can amount to cases of crimes against humanity and possibly genocide.
