The Asia Pacific Partnership for Atrocity Prevention (APPAP) has released a statement condemning changes to Myanmar's laws by the current military junta.
These amendments cover a number of laws that further infringe upon the human rights of people in the country, by limiting their freedoms, accessing their personal information and making it easier to arbitrarily arrest and imprison members of opposition movements.
By curtailing such freedoms, the military junta has enabled the continuation of atrocity crimes within the country. APPAP calls for the reversal of these amendments and to respect the human rights of the people of Myanmar.
